Definitions and Explanations

Date Received This is the date that the Customer Service Request (CSR) was made to the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety. In some cases Pro-Active Code Enforcement (PACE) or The Vehicle Establishment Program (VEIP) may survey areas of the city, in this case this will be the date the survey was done or a case was started.
Description The description is the reason for the call or the request for service. Click here to refer to the help file from the previous page for more details.
Inspector This is the inspector assigned to your request.
Phone The phone number for the inspector assigned.
Status Here you will be able to determine the property's status. Click here to refer to the help file from the previous page for a complete description of the status codes.
Order Number If the condition of the property requires an order to be issued, the order number will be shown here.
Order Type There are three types of orders that could be shown. The Order to Comply is generally used to correct violations of the Los Angeles Municipal Code (L.A.M.C.). You may see the Order to Comply in written or verbal forms. The Substandard Order is used to correct violations as defined in Section 91.8902 of the Los Angeles Municipal Code (L.A.M.C.) and a document so stating is filed with the Los Angeles County Recorders Office. The Abate Order is used for vacant buildings as defined by section 98.0702 (L.A.M.C.) and other violations of (L.A.M.C.) and a document so stating is filed with the Los Angeles County Recorders Office.
Compliance Date This is the date set for compliance to be obtained by.
Issued By This is the inspector that issued the order.
Phone The inspector's phone number that issued the order.
Code Violation(s) These are the violations that have been observed by the inspector. They may be different than shown in the description (the initial reason for the call). The violations shown here are the violations shown in the order. If you need further clarification of the violations, please contact the inspector. If the inspector did not observe any violations at the time of the inspection, or has not completed their investigation and/or research, this field will show "No Data Available".
